Join us for our third annual Lantern Walk as we celebrate the wonder and warmth of the winter solstice!
The Mission: Gather with our Growing Roots community on December 20th as we mark the shortest day of the year with light, connection, and seasonal joy. This year’s event begins at 3:30 PM so we can enjoy activities together before the early winter dusk.
The Magic: Sip hot chocolate, take part in a simple solstice-themed activity, and then join us as our lanterns glow to life and we walk together once darkness falls.
What to Expect: A peaceful, family-friendly celebration outdoors that honors nature’s rhythms, invites reflection, and offers a beautiful moment of togetherness.
Action: Bring your loved ones, wear warm winter gear, and help us spread the word - this public event is open to all who wish to join.

Join us on the South Dakota Day of Giving for a sweet night of fun and fundraising!
The Mission: Your ticket and cookie purchases secure the future of Growing Roots Preschool. We are fundraising for CLF's urgent, $38,000 fire sprinkler project—vital for maintaining our school's license and safety.
The Match: Every dollar donated to the fund is DOUBLED! Help us unlock the full $3,000 Anonymous Donor Match.
What to Expect: A festive, fun-filled night of cookie decorating followed by a Christmas sing-along!
Action: Buy tickets and pre-order take-home cookie dozens (please try to order by Nov 17th, though we will bake some extras) to support our safety goal!

Join us immediately following the decorating party for a joyous evening of community caroling.
Celebrate Safety: This sing-along celebrates the strong partnership between Growing Roots Preschool and CLF and the steps we are taking to ensure a safe home for our students and community groups.
Make an Impact: While the sing-along is free-will/by donation, we encourage you to join the match challenge by sponsoring a life-saving sprinkler head.

A Warm Glow: Reflecting on Our 2nd Annual Lantern Walk
DECEMBER 2024
We were thrilled to welcome over 40 members of our community to our 2nd Annual Lantern Walk, celebrating winter, the Solstice and gathering during the Holidays. The evening was filled with magic as children used their handcrafted lanterns, casting a warm glow on the gathering. While we experienced a minor hot chocolate temperature mishap (we'll be better prepared next time!), the spirit of the evening remained bright. We enjoyed a beautiful walk through the woods, gathered around a warming fire, made s'mores and shared the children's songs for a evening to remember.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and to all those who support Growing Roots. Your participation and encouragement allow us to create these meaningful community experiences. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
